Fuchs Financial launches new podcast called "Fuchs Around & Cal Them Out"

Fuchs Financial, a Connecticut-based financial services firm providing retirement and wealth management services, has launched a new podcast series this month. On the new podcast, titled Fuchs Around & Cal Them Out, financial advisors Ben Fuchs and Alex Cal share client stories and their expertise to illustrate timely topics impacting retirement and financial planning.

The podcast features two members of the Fuchs Financial team of advisors: Ben Fuchs, founder of Fuchs Financial and a Certified Financial Planner® and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® professional, and Alex Cal, a Certified Financial Planner® and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor®.

Fuchs Financial was recently voted Best Financial Management Company for 2025 in the Best of Hartford Readers Poll, conducted and published by The Hartford Courant. The firm, with offices in Middletown, West Hartford, Middlebury, and Mystic, focuses on the best interests of clients in all retirement planning recommendations.

The podcast can be accessed on the Fuchs Financial website, TaxesAndIncome.com, or on popular podcast sites including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeart, Rephonic, Listen Notes, Amazon Music and YouTube.

Each episode offers practical advice, clear insights, and a relatable take on building a retirement plan that actually works – beginning with planning without the pressure. From taxes and Social Security to investments, healthcare, and legacy decisions, they break down the biggest mistakes and missed opportunities, and offer insights based on their many years of experience working with an array of clients.

In the first episode of the new podcast, Ben Fuchs and Alex Cal of Fuchs Financial share real client stories that highlight the dangers of trying to time the market, the importance of shifting toward conservative strategies as retirement approaches, and the personal experiences that shaped their approach to financial planning. The inaugural episode, “Why Timing the Market Can Cost You – Client Stories on Retirement Mindsets,” is a candid conversation that gives listeners a window into why they do what they do, how they built their philosophy, and the lessons that can help you avoid costly mistakes in your own retirement journey.

On the most recent podcast episode, “Roth Conversions: A Smart Move for Retirement Taxes?”, Ben Fuchs and Alex Cal dive into the strategy of Roth conversions. They explain how moving money from traditional retirement accounts to a Roth IRA can reduce future tax burdens, provide more flexibility in retirement, and protect income from rising tax rates. With real client stories and straightforward insights, they discuss when a Roth conversion makes sense and what to consider before making the move.

In addition to the podcast, Ben Fuchs has appeared on the nationally telecast program Wealth Council, which airs on the FOX Business Network, and he can be seen locally on WTNH News 8, WFSB, and Fox61, and heard weekly on WTIC Radio in Hartford.

The Fuchs Financial team includes advisors Gina Mazzadra, Accredited Retirement Plan Specialist, Retirement Income Certified Professional®; and Alex Cal, as well as Josh Kerchis, Retirement Healthcare Benefits Analyst, and Jeff Singer, AFSP (Annual Filing Season Program) credentialed Staff Accountant.

“Whether you’re just getting started in your retirement planning journey, or if you’re interested in a second opinion on your current retirement plan from a first-class team that places a priority on your objectives, that’s what we’re all about,” said Fuchs. “We lead with listening, to understand each individual’s priorities for retirement, and then use scenario-based planning to develop and share a customized financial plan that responds to clients’ specific goals for retirement.”

“The podcast is an additional way to address these issues and share the expertise that we have developed,” Fuchs explained. “We’re also pleased to offer seminars at various libraries in the state on numerous retirement planning topics, as well as webinars, all free of charge, and we offer initial consultations to individuals at no cost.”
